Bonjour Gilbert,
We can't give you root, and we can't give you a machine outside
the firewall, but we may be able to at least give you an endpoint
somewhere to test against. We may be able to go some way toward
having all the right patches installed. It will only be a test
system and no guarantees on uptime, support, etc.
If something like that would do, let me know. We will probably
also need to know more about the technical ins and outs of what
you're trying to do.

Subject: [[log in to unmask]: a DPM machine ?]
Hi,
I can't help here since I can't give root to anyone not working at
RAL and perhaps it is better anyway for someone who is more interested
than I am in DPM to look into it.

Bonjour Steve,
I am trying to setup a DPM with an associated disk server
where the machines belong to 2 different network domains,
to be able to play a lot with them - installing, deinstalling and reinstalling
RPMs, when there are new patches/fixes to test. It not not easy to set
this at CERN - mainly because I can'y easily create a different subdomain right
there. This is essentially for DPM tests purpose - NOT production.
I was thinking to have the DPM master sitting at CERN when the
DPM disk server would be at RAL - outside the firewall, and I would need root
access to it. But the other side round is possible as well.
Do you believe this could ever be possible ?
Of course, I can easily give the technical ins and outs of everything I'll
install there.
Thanks in advance for your feedback, Gilbert.
