Dear Colleague, the time of year for HTA suggestions has come around again.
For those of you who have not been involved in this process before, this is
an important way for Emergency Medicine to try and influence the national
research
agenda.
Attached is a Helpsheet which outlines the process and gives weblinks to the
relevant sections of the HTA website.
Also attached is a document called 'prioritisation' which gives some insight
into how the suggestions are ranked by the HTA.
Also attached is an 'HTA Form' on which you can put suggestions. I would
encourage you to contribute your ideas for projects that would benefit from
HTA funding. (There is obviously no guarantee that any will come through
the HTA process, and the process for those that do is an open competition -
so there is no preference given to the person or organisation that made the
original suggestion).
The process within Faculty is that suggestions are collected and are then
looked at by a 'writing group' which is headed by Steve Goodacre. (as is the
past we have found that the raw suggestions from emergency physicians are
often not written in a way that maximises the chances of funding being
allocated).
Please let me have your completed forms within 2 weeks ([log in to unmask])
(there is no limit on the number).
Regards,
Tim. Coats.
