Dear Dr Richard Light, Dr Linda Misek-Falkoff and all others within the UN
Disability Convention
I have received a response from a member(Kath) of the Bioethics group in
response to the email I sent you all around the Foucault Tribrunal on the
State of Psychiatry. This is Kathy's copy email below:-

Subject: Re: [Bioethics] Foucault Tribunal on the state of Psychiatry
Wow, is this indicating these accusations on the United States Mental Health
system as well? If so, then what changes would this tribunal like to see
take place? The US is told it's mental health system has failed, when we
have patients with mental illness that are homeless, drug addicted, and end
up committing suicide, or homocide, or physical assault on another person.
What does this tribunal want pyschiatrists to do? If psychiatry is not a
science, than are the diagnoses therein inaccurate or not true?
abuse
coercion
fraud
involuntary confinement is abuse:
~72 hour holds/6 month committments (So, is all of this abuse, or is it ever
justified?)~
In MN a person cannot be held over 72 hours, unless committed by a court
(they have a court appointed attorney) for a longer time.
Very interesting information. Does a person ever need protection or
medication?
Thanks,
Kathy
(PS Not that I am in favor of all that psych does, but I do work under
these psychiatric guideline and conditions with people that have mental
illness~what else should be done?)
(I'm not sure I understand)
My reply to Kath and to you all:-
Dear Kath
Kath
I don't know if this tribunal can be used in mandatory evidence, but I have
informed my colleagues at UN Disability Convention and I will ask them all
to watch and respond to this tribunal and bring it up within the UN
Disability Convention as an urgent matter.
Why has the outcomes of this tribunal been suppressed to the global public
and the UN, since 1998, or has it been discussed in the past?
I will send them a copy of your email with my request for a full
investgation and responses to the Foucault Tribunal by the UN.
Yours
Colin Revell, UK
