What is the Horizon VCOP? http://www.horizonvcop.org/
The Horizon Project Virtual Community of Practice (or VCOP), an Educause
initiative in collaboration with the New Media Consortium and co-sponsored
by iCohere, has been set up to collectively identify and assess new and
emerging practices that accompany key learning technologies (identified by
the Horizon Report and beyond) and to communicate findings back to higher
education institutions.
What is the Horizon Report? http://www.nmc.org/horizon/
The goal of the Horizon Project, sponsored by the New Media Consortium, is
to survey emerging technologies, trends and ideas to identify those that
are likely to have an impact on higher education with a 1, 3, 5 year and
beyond timeline. This list is developed by experts from a wide-range of
fields and published annually at the beginning of the year.
Horizon VCOP Online Collaborative Spaces
Generally, the main online meeting space is the Horizon iCohere
conferencing site [ http://www.conferences.iCohere.com/horizon ]. We
frequently use a telephone conference alongside this for real-time
meetings. We also have other online spaces including a blog, a wiki and
Breeze (courtesy of the University of
Arizona's Learning Technologies Center).
If you would like to join the Horizon community, please email
[log in to unmask] with your name and email. It is free.
All Welcome!
