This is excellent news for Loughborough and for Social Policy in the UK. Congratulations to Ruth and to all the Loughborough Social Policy Group, and to researchers in the Centre for Research in Social Policy, the Center for Child and Family Research, and all the others, for an outstanding achievement.

Subject: prize for social policy
I hope list members will forgive this 'puff' on behalf of colleagues at
Loughborough but I think it is good news for UK social policy as well. It
has recently been announced that Loughborough University is to be awarded a
Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for 'enhancing
social policy nationally'. To our knowledge it is the first time that
social policy has been cited in one of these prizes (although one or two
have overlapped with social policy in the past)
best wishes
