Dear All,
As some of you may be aware, the current joint Internet Archaeology / ADS
LEAP project <http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/project/leap/> has been funded under the
AHRC ICT Strategy Projects programme.
The aim of LEAP (Linking Electronic Archives and e-Publications) is to
investigate novel ways in which electronic publication over the Internet can
provide broad access to research findings in the arts and humanities, and
can also make underlying data available in such a way so that readers are
enabled to 'drill down' seamlessly into online archives to test
interpretations and develop their own conclusions.
The AHRC ICT Strategy Projects programme aims to develop a long term
strategy for digital resources in the humanities and as part of this wider
initiative, colleagues in the Institute for Historical Research are also
carrying out a study on the importance and implications of peer review for
electronic resources. I attach below an email from Jane Winters (no
relation!) who is leading this initiative and who would, I am sure, be
grateful if you could complete her online questionnaire.

Subject: Peer review survey
Dear All
The IHR is undertaking a major project, funded under the AHRC ICT Strategy
Projects programme, to establish a framework for evaluating the quality,
sustainability and impact over time of digital resources in the arts and
humanities. As part of the project, we are conducting a survey to collate
opinions from historians, archaeologists and classicists, covering both the
intellectual and technical content of digital resources used in research.
I would be very grateful if you could spare the time to complete our online
questionnaire at
http://india.british-history.ac.uk/external/ahrc-peer-review-survey.aspx. It
should only take about 10 minutes, and there will be a prize draw in
December (£50 Amazon token and a year's subscription to Historical
Research!).
If you have any colleagues who would be interested, or students, do please
pass the link on to them.
Thanks very much for your help.
Best wishes
Jane
