Dear Editorial Board Members,
I am delighted to announce that Deborah Dixon (commencing Jan 2006)
and
Robyn Longhurst (commencing Jan 2007) will join Brenda Yeoh as
associate
editors of Gender, Place and Culture. I will remain the managing
editor.
Dr. Longhurst is the Chairperson and Associate Professor
in the Department of Geography, Tourism and Environmental Planning at
the
University of Waikato in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Her research interests
include the production of bodies and spaces, processes of social
exclusion
on the grounds of 'difference' from an unmarked norm, and 'culture'
(ie.
cultures of workplaces, shopping mall culture, cultural landscapes in
Aotearoa/New Zealand), among others.
Dr. Dixon is a lecturer in the Institute of Geography and Earth
Sciences at
the University of Wales-Aberystwyth. Her research interests include
the
application
of poststructural and feminist theories to case study research on
economic and
political
restructuring in the U.K. and U.S., and cinematic geographies, among
others.
Please join me in welcoming Deborah and Robyn to the editorial board of
the
journal.
Best wishes,
Linda
