to me disablism is the denial of a legal right that others have, e.g. womem in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are disabled because they have not right to vote. 'dis' as a prefix meaning 'apart from' from the Latin. 'disability' implying impairment only comes from the 20th century.
In English law 'a bankrupt' is disabled being denied the legal right to sit on a company or charity board.
