The Crown Estate – Caird Research Fellowship
Changing Geographies of the Thames Estuary
The collections of the National Maritime Museum enjoy an international
reputation. The Museum is committed to encouraging high-quality research
on the collections and related maritime subjects.
In partnership with The Crown Estate, the Museum invites applications for
a new jointly-funded Short-term Research Fellowship for 2006.
‘Changing Geographies of the Thames Estuary'
£2,000 per month, for three months
Tenable from January 2006
The Museum and The Crown Estate are particularly keen to receive proposals
that explore the physical evolution of the Thames estuary and the history
of safe navigation in its waters. This Fellowship will provide a unique
opportunity for research that uses historical collections to understand
our marine environment today.
Candidates with a proven record in the fields of historical geography and
environmental history, or those with cognate research interests in marine
geography or environmental science, are encouraged to apply.
