I didn't want this to get lost in the talk about the conference -
so thought I'd start a new topic.

PS re critisising clinical psychology - taking a look at the awful
uncritical Layard stuff and orchestrating a community psychology rejoinder/

be good? Does anyone have any thoughts about how we might do that?
I'm sure that we could make space for this discussion at the conference, but
already 2 + months have passed since the Sainsbury Centre Lecture, and in
another year, the debate may well have not only gone off the boil, but
evaporated altogether. I note that the Division of Clinical Psychology
website posts Roth & Stirling's comments on the lecture
(http://www.bps.org.uk/dcp/news/layard.cfm), with some critique from a
relatively mainstream Clinical Psychology perspective. I wonder if it would
be helpful to generate an alternative response from a more
critical/community perspective? If so, where could we 'put' it? The
Sainsbury Centre website has a discussion board, as does the Mentality
website. Any other suggestions?
We could write directly to Lord Layard?
Write to MPs? The Department of Health?
The BPS? The Guardian?
Anyone else who's interested?
(one response could go a long way!)
