NICTA is Australia's premier research and development organisation for
information and communications technology, integrating the work of top ICT
Australian scientists across a range of ambitious and cutting-edge research
programs. NICTA-Queensland partners include the Queensland Government, The
University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, and Griffith
University.
The work of NICTA-Queensland currently focuses on the Disaster Prediction,
Response, and Recovery (DisPRR) project. The DisPRR project focuses on the
disaster and emergency management domain and will lead to improving the ICT
technologies, devices, information systems, and services in that sector.
A position is available for a Researcher in the human-system integration
area of the DisPRR project, where the appointee will become part of the
DisPRR team. This position, equivalent to Lecturer B, provides an
opportunity to develop a productive research program. The appointee will
conduct high quality independent research and contribute substantially to
projects in collaboration with other program staff, researchers elsewhere in
NICTA and outside partners. They will be expected to take part in activities
involving the transfer of research results to industry, government or end
users, and to help build and maintain strong linkages with commercial
partners and/or researchers in Australian universities and internationally.
Required experience and knowledge: Research experience in one or more of
human-system integration, human factors engineering, or cognitive
engineering. Ability to work at the interface of organisational, social, and
cognitive aspects of human-system integration. Ability to conduct field
investigations and to formalise the results in models
