Heya all,
I was just updateing our dcache pool nodes here at Lancaster by hand
using apt (i know, I should use auto-update and I do on our admin
node). But I noticed something a little off. There wre minor updates
for the dcache packages, which were installed. Apt shut down the
corresponding services, then installed the updates, but failed to
restart the services again afterwards. Which was a bit annoying. So I
went to restart these services by hand, and found the second bit of
off behaviour: the dcache-opt service had reverted to it's "default
values" and tried to start an srm and dcap door on the pool node,
instead of just a gridftp door. This was easily solved by rerunning
the install doors script and restarting dcache-opt, but I thought it
worth warning people about as it could be really annoying if left
unnoticed.
cheers,
matt
