1) Closely following Wild Dog 1, Microtonal Projects are delighted to
announce that Wild Dog 2 will take place at Greenwich Picture House
on 4 December. MicroFest participants Rarescale (Carla Rees, flute
and Michael Oliva, electronics) will be performing works for
quarter-tone flute and electronics by Michael Oliva and David Burnand
and Phillip Henderson is back with his array of throbbing
electro-memorablilia. VJ Che-guevara John and DJ FredKU contribute a
set of pulsating visual and aural interactivity while Jane Wong
graces the room with a new dance piece (with Donald Bousted,
quarter-tone guitar). In addition, there will be screenings of 12
artists films, some premieres.
2) May I remind those interested in putting forward a proposal for
UK MicroFest 2 that these should arrive by the end of the year. The
2nd MicroFest will be fully planned in January after which funding
applications will be made (UK MicroFest 2 is scheduled for March or
October 2007, depending on the funding position). Proposals should
contain an outline of an event (recital lecture or other);
biographical information and full costings.
3) UK MicroFest 1 is being written up on the Microtonal Projects
website and will be launched in January. Some full and even expanded
versions of the papers presented will be available as pdf files and
there will also be pictures and web links. Any further contributions
from participants or audience members can still be accepted until the
end of December.
4) David Fiuczynski is a professional guitarist and professor of
guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, USA. He is
starting a fretless guitar lab and would like to develop a collection
of simple 1/4; 1/6; 1/8; 19 and 31 tone etudes for use by his
students.
