This is a great position at the Assistant/Associate professor level to join an interdisciplinary public health partnership, that is funded at $4m a year for the forseeable future. The position would be located within geography. We are interested in pretty much all aspects of health if that person has GIS expertise.

Georgia State University anticipates the hiring of a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences, with specialization required in urban health and expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Geography or related field at the time of appointment.
Research and teaching interests in health and urban populations may include one of the following focal problems: HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases; Injury and Violence; Substance Abuse and Mental Health; and Chronic Disease and Illness. This position involves participation in the university’s Urban Health Research Initiative, and interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty in various departments within the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Health and Human Sciences, and Law. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, have an active research agenda on urban health, seek external research funding, and publish scholarly articles.
