Dear all,
Sorry for the delay in sending the updated information round to
everyone after the WGSG AGM at the annual conference in September.
Attached should be the new committee list. Key changes are that Joanne
Sharp came to the end of her tenure at secretary - and everyone in the
group thanks Jo for all the hard work she put in to the group, not least
of all editing the 2004 WGSG CD-ROM publication which has been such a
success. I'm very pleased to say that nichola Thomas (Exeter)
volunteered to take over the role of Secretary - so welcome to Nichola
in that role.
Deborah Thien has also stepped down as Membership secretary after many
years now that she is in Canada - thanks so much to Deborah for all her
activities in the Group. Likewise Becky Elmhirst has stood down after a
long time on the committee. Thanks to her too.
The other key issue is that of the WGSG website - Maudeen Fordham has
been in charge of it and has based it in Northumbria for a while now,
but the pages will apparently soon have to be removed since they are not
'core' university business. So - A REQUEST - is anyone else able/willing
to take on the website duty? We are also going to check if it is
possible to host our website via the RGS's website too.
I hope I haven't missed anyone out from the thanks and welcomes - if I
have - my apologies.
A separate mail will arrive soon(ish) with details of the report of the
WGSG AGM and plans for 2005-06.
All the best
Fiona
