I am currently involved in a project at the Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea, creating a detailed Records Retention Schedule for the borough. We
will be using the Records Management Society’s Local Government Group
retention guidelines as a starting point for this.
Does anybody have experience of creating a usable, detailed, local
retention schedule based on the RMS guidelines? Is anyone else working on
this, and willing to share ideas?
Also, I understand the group working on the Local Government Classification
Scheme is planning to map this to the guidelines. Any idea when this is
likely to be completed?
