The Progress GI Science eSeminar Series is a series of six seminars
inviting world leaders in the field to discuss ‘hot topics’ in issues of
and surrounding GI Science. These include (subject to confirmation): Ron
Johnston, Mark Birkin, Mark Gehegan, Luc Anselin, Derek Karssenberg and
Mike Goodchild. The series is monthly. The second eSeminar is scheduled
for 4pm (UK local time) on Monday November 17.
* Clicking on www.giscience.info will install some Java based software on
your system. We recommend you do this at least a day in advance of the
seminar. Alternatively, you can download a free desktop client (Marratech
Pro) from www.marratech.com/download/. To connect to the eSeminar using
Marratech Pro, first install and run the software. Next, within the
Marratech Pro environment, select File, then Open Location and enter
www.giscience.info. The videoconferencing software will operate under PC
Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. A web cam and desktop microphone / headset are
optional. Minimum system requirements can be found at
http://www.marratech.co.uk/uk_pages/technical.html. The software have been
made available for this eSeminar series by the World Universities Network
(www.wun.ac.uk), in conjunction with Broadband Learning Solutions
