ESRC SEMINAR SERIES
SLEEP AND SOCIETY: CRITICAL THEMES, FUTURE AGENDAS
You are warmly invited to participate in an ESRC seminar series on 'sleep and society', co-organised by sociologists at the University of Warwick and the University of Surrey.
The fifth seminar:'Sleep, Health and Medicine' will be held in Room R003-4, Ramphal Building, University of Warwick on the 2nd December 2005, from 10.30 am - 4.45 pm. Speakers include:Jenny Hislop, University of Surrey: "The (de)medicalisation of women's sleep"
Professor Jon Abraham, University of Sussex: "Sleep and the pharmaceutical industry"
Dr Tiago Moreira, University of Newcastle upon Tyne: "Sleep, health and the dynamics of biomedicine: Sleep apnoea and the uses of CPAP"
Dr Deborah Steinberg, University of Warwick: "Reading sleep through science fiction: A brave new world?"
Dr Pamela Lowe, Dr Simon Williams and Dr Frances Griffiths, University of Warwick: "Complementary therapies and sleep: Findings from a pilot study"
