italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Leslie and Italian Studies colleagues,
I appreciate these ambiguities being brought to my attention, and I hope I can help to clarify here. The online collection, Internet Resources for Modern Languages, from the Humbul Humanities Hub (recently announced on this list) is structured according to resource type rather than language. As the introduction states, the collection aims to reflect the current strengths of the Humbul Humanities Hub which lie primarily with French, German, Hispanic and Italian studies, with growing collections for Japanese, Chinese, East European and Scandinavian studies for examples. Within each section (E-journals, Bibliographies, Digital archives etc), I have tried to include a good example, where possible, for each of the languages currently covered by Humbul. Please note that the collection aims to give a flavour of the resources available, to entice you to explore further what the Web has to offer for academic purposes.
I am sorry that the link to Italian studies from the Humbul homepage is not clear. You'll find it by scrolling down a little to "Other Humbul subject areas", where you will see a link at the bottom of the left hand column. Or, you could go directly to Humbul's Italian studies page: http://www.humbul.ac.uk/italian/. We currently have over 341 records of resources for Italian studies and the collection grows daily. I hope you will find resources of interest here and I apologise for the lack of clarity in the Humbul Web interface (a redesign is currently being planned).
I would be delighted to receive further feedback about Internet Resources for Modern Languages or the Humbul Humanities Hub in general.
Best wishes,
Shoshannah Holdom

italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Dr. Holdom,
I appreciate knowledge of this resource, and have forwarded it to my
colleagues in Modern Languages and Literatures. However, it is ironic
that, posted on the Italian listserv, there is neither a separate
subject entry for Italian nor a link on the Humbul page to Italian studies!
Best wishes,
LZM
