Dear Colleague,
Call for papers:
Health, Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG) Working Papers
We would like to bring to your attention the establishment of a new
research group based at the University of York: Health, Econometrics and
Data Group (HEDG). This collaboration between the Centre for Health
Economics (CHE) and the Department of Economics and Related Studies
(DERS) is focused on the econometric analysis of health, health-related
behaviour and health care, with the aim of providing expertise in the
development and application of quantitative research methods capable of
informing health policy through empirical evidence.
The cornerstone of this work is the application of state-of-the-art
econometric and statistical methods with an emphasis on the analysis of
large and complex datasets from non-experimental settings.
Information on the activities of HEDG, including a list of current
research projects can be found at our website:
http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/che/research/hedg.htm
HEDG has a lively seminar programme and a dedicated working paper
series. The working paper series reflects the motivations of the Group
and will be of particular interest to those working with econometric
methods in health economics.
We are seeking contributions to the working paper series and very much
hope you will consider submitting your own papers. Submissions would be
subject to a light-touch editorial process, and should be full papers
that are at the stage where otherwise you would be happy for them to
receive peer-review and to appear in the public domain. Publication
within the working paper series is web-based and does not prohibit you
seeking publication in other working paper series.
We are keen to establish a network of researchers working in the area of
applied econometrics and its application to the analysis of health and
health care and to this end, authors of papers published within the
working paper series will be invited to become affiliates of HEDG. We
hope the creation of such "external affiliates" will propagate new and
exciting research initiatives, stimulate productive collaborations and
motivate visits to pursue joint research.
Submissions to the working paper series should be sent to Nigel Rice
([log in to unmask]). Guidelines for submissions are provided on the HEDG
website.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Andrew Jones and Nigel Rice
