Brian,
Your certificate number 4077 (0xFED) (no really) should be something
like this, if you use mapped pool accounts:
grep davies /etc/grid-security/grid-mapfile
"/C=UK/O=eScience/OU=Lancaster/L=Physics/CN=brian davies" .dteam
It expires 18 May 2006.
If you *don't* use mapped pool accounts then you should have a real
local user instead of .dteam. Check that that user is in the passwd
file.
If you do have pool accounts, do
ls -li /etc/grid-security/gridmapdir/*davies*
and find the inode of yourself, then
ls -li /etc/grid-security/gridmapdir/* |grep <num>
where <num> is that inode.
That should tell you what the local user is (along with repeating the
encoding of your DN (%-escaped). Check if that user is in the passwd
file. This is all from memory (except for the your cert where I
consulted the CA's database!).
