This message might be of interest to those of you who are interested in
activation policies in the EU.
On the 20th and 21st of October 2006, the Active Social Policies European
Network (ASPEN) and the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI-REHS) will
organize a conference on 'Activation Policies in the EU'. The conference
will take place in Brussels. During the conference, four workshops will be
organized, on the following issues:
- New modes of governance in activation policies;
- Supranational regulation and the politics of identity: the case of
activation policies;
- Quality of activation and quality of working careers;
- Activation: beyond the 'work, work, work' paradigm.

paper proposals: December 15th, 2005), as well as an option to pre-register
