We are pleased to announce the new listserv for doctoral students with an interest in Critical Management Studies (CMS):
[log in to unmask]
The list has been set up to provide
· A forum enabling doctoral students interested in the field of CMS to connect with each other to swap ideas;
· A social and intellectual network for those doctoral students who may be isolated in their own schools/departments;
· A space for doctoral students to experiment, debate and exchange ideas beyond the gaze of supervisors and potential examiners;
· An exchange for information and tips about career processes, publication, teaching methods and jobs;
· Somewhere where ideas about the nature of the doctoral process as it affects CMS doctoral students and established faculty can be developed;
· A means to organize social functions for doctoral students at conferences and so on;
· And a space for a critical engagement with the institutional framework of the business school, as well as the field of CMS.
Although the list is a public list, and registered in the UK, it is run by and for CMS doctoral students worldwide. The list owners are Armin Beverungen at the University of Leicester, UK, and Kate Kenny at the University of Cambridge, UK. For jiscmail formality's sake, Bill Cooke at the University of Manchester, UK, is also a list owner. Membership of this list is meant to be in addition to any other list memberships you have, not a substitute or alternative.
To join the list, go to:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=cms-doctoral&A=1
and follow the instructions. You can also get there via
