Dear all,
( copied in to national community network mailist in case there are any of
you in the south west of England that aren't on our southwest mail list)
The southwest community psychology network is a very very informal group of
practicing psychologists and others ( any walk of life) who meet every
couple of months or so in room 028 at Washington Singer, University of
Exeter . Our biggest accomplishments so far have been (I think) - to create
a warm atmosphere in which people feel welcome and at ease to converse
together, to host the ( very enjoyable) national community psychology
conference last year, and to guest edit the recent special edition of
Clinical Psychology Forum on challenging social inequalities. next we are
hoping to work up some ideas for collaborative research together on topics
of relevance to our community members.
Our next meeting is this coming Friday, 7th October, 10 - 12.00: theme is
social inclusion. One of our community members, Steph Meadows, has
arranged for David Rolls, the Social Inclusion officer for the Community
Council of Devon to come along and make a presentation . She says he is a
great character.
Please feel very welcome to come along, and bring colleagues/ community
members/family/friends/ babies with you if you wish.
Try to let me know if you plan to come so I know how many biscuits to get
in.
Warm wishes,
Annie
