Applications are invited for the above post from candidates with a proven record of research in the design of new technologies for Mixed Reality and learning, or computer aided learning and assessment. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with the Learning Sciences Research Institute (LSRI), which develops interdisciplinary learning research between the Schools of Computer Science and IT, Education and Psychology. The University is investing substantially in this area to ensure LSRI's premier position as a centre for international research excellence in learning sciences.
The successful candidate will be expected to be an active member of the School and to play a key role in the development of the Institute. They will also be expected to develop research initiatives at the interface of computer science and learning technologies, and will also play a significant role in establishing a new taught postgraduate programme in advanced interactive technologies for learning, and in doctoral supervision.
Candidates should have a PhD in computer science, or another closely related discipline, together with strong evidence of existing research work and the potential for future research at an international level. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record in attracting external funding of research and those with demonstrable experience of working in relevant interdisciplinary teams.
Salary will be within the range £23,643 - £35,883 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 18 months.
