PANEL 1: Italy and the Developing World
PANEL 2: Italy between the EU and the US
Convenor: Maurizio Carbone (University of Glasgow)
The objective of these two panels is to explore Italy’s role in the
international arena.
For the first panel, Italy and Developing World, of particular interest
would be papers on:
1) Relations between Italy and Africa
2) Relations between Italy and Latin America
3) Relations between Italy and Asia
4) Role of Italy in international organisations
For the second panel, Italy between the EU and the US, of particular
interest would be papers on:
1) Relations between Italy and the US
2) The role of Italy in the European Union
3) Comparative analyses of Italy’s foreign policy
These two panels are in conjunction with one/two similar panels that the
convenor is organising for CONGRIPS at the American Political Science
Association annual conference, which will be held in Philadelphia in
September 2006. The aim is to prepare the publication of an edited book on
the role of Italy in the international arena.
Paper abstracts (circa 250 words), including author’s institutional
affiliation, should be e-mailed by 28 October 2005 to Maurizio Carbone
([log in to unmask]). Final composition of the panels must be sent
to the conference convenr by 31 October 2005.
