I used the Jamie Oliver celebrity chef example recently when discussing
diet, health and politics with an American activist. It is a fascinating
story. I wonder, though, if this is less about 'art' and more about the
'cult of celebrity'. It's the strength of personality and celebrity status
which seems to exert the power, even if the passion originates in an art
form. I suppose a further question could be - does that matter?
