In addition to the iTunes education directory, you could check The
Education Podcast Network (maintained by David Warlick in the US) which is
mostly podcasts geared at primary and secondary. http://epnweb.org/ There
is also another directory at ipodder.org (the original podcast directory
site) but the education category seems to be broken right now. This one
also has a higher ed sub-directory.
For me, the real potential is in student created podcasts. Our alumni have
one in iTunes already but I would like to this to be more mainstream, which
means having RSS (with enclosures) built in to learning management systems.
It would be great if discussion forums for a course had RSS subscriptions
... separate for each forum, an RSS for announcements, etc and one that
aggregated these all into one feed for the course. Has anyone seen this? I
haven't checked out Moodle lately but wouldn't be surprised if it had
incorporated this already.
