Dear All,
Some time ago, I wrote a Records Management Policy for my organisation,
based on the traditional paper base registry system which we have here.
This registry system when used, works very well and is immensely useful for
identifying the archival potential of our records. However, not everyone
uses it, and many are suspicious of it, not wanting to let go of their
records or letting us know what they have. Ourdepartmental head is keen to
obtain an ERM system and have a new policy to run in conjunction with this.
I was wondering if colleagues who had done the transition from paper to
electronic records had encountered problems, especially when encouraging
staff to use a ERM system and how they overcame this. If we ever go for a
ERM this is going to be one of our most major obstacle to overcome.
Thanks
Michèle Losse
