Thanks for your all your suggestions, I have been inundated with
responses which is most heartening. This list is a great resource with a
helpful community. I am sorry if I have not been able to reply back to
you all individually but all your responses were appreciated - thank
you.
I agree with some of your sentiments that "Manager/Management" should
remain in the job title because that is what the role entails (ISO
15489). Also any change in title needs to be carefully chosen as to not
devalue or demote this important organisational role. My situation is
not dissimilar to what others experience in the public sector (CITB is a
non departmental public body so is in a similar position).
It is not all bad news because any change can be used to promote and
raise awareness of records management in the organisation.
