Fraser then moved these onto the GridPP pages:
http://www.gridpp.ac.uk/deployment/users/datamanagement/index.html
However, the "pledged to be maintained" page in wikiland is:
http://wiki.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/LCG_Utils
Particularly see section 7.7.1 of the LCG user guide.
I don't attempt to reproduce the man pages, which you can find on any
worker node or ui (from the lcg_utils RPM).
The commands needed to migrate data off an SE would be:
$ lcg-rep SRC_SURL -d DESTINATION_SE
(Replicates a file from your classic SE to a new SE - this ensures
the new copy is registered in the catalog)
$ lcg-del SRC_SURL
(Delete the replica in your classic SE)
Chug through this for all files on your SE.
Classic SE file paths had a very primitive mapping to SURLs, so on an
imaginary classic SE "se.classic.ac.uk" a file stored at
"/gridstore/atlas/generated/2005-08-17/file425324f6-9a3e-4ba1-9279-7830347574e4"
should have a SURL of
sfn://se.classic.ac.uk//gridstore/atlas/generated/2005-08-17/file425324f6-9a3e-4ba1-9279-7830347574e4
However, your big problem will be that your certificate will only have
permission to mess with the dteam catalog, not with the experiment ones.
It might be best to find a local user with a suitable certificate for
each VO you have to migrate.
Please get in touch if you want to try this, or discuss it further.
Cheers
Graeme
