Dear Sue:
May I recommend "The Energy Consortium" (TEC). A consortium for HE &
FE purchasing. The TEC have had a stand at the National Estates Network
Conference for a number of years.
As a member of TEC and a Board Director representing the FE Sector, I
can certainly endorse the assistance that the TEC team at the University
of Birmingham have given Warwickshire College for over 6 years,
especially in these difficult times on purchasing energy.
If you are interested in being a member, please contact the TEC office
on 0121 472 2058, or go onto the website at www.tec.bham.ac.uk. The list
of members is shown. Alternatively, please give me a ring.
On Tuesday 8 November the annual conference of TEC is being held in
Birmingham which will give a real update on the energy situation. If
you are interested, please see the web.

Dear Colleagues, our current Electricity Supply Contract is just about
to expire. Given the likely increase in electricity costs (I have been
told to allow for at least +40%) I am not keen to pay utilities
consultants a large sum of money to undertake a purchasing exercise on
our behalf. However, I do not have time to do the work myself. Any
ideas?
Thanks & regards,
Sue Lockett
