Dear all,
Good to see many of you at RGS-IBG. A number of items to report and
upcoming events for which we need suggestions:
1: We need ideas for next year's annual symposium; our last two events
have focused on understanding markets and methodology in economic
geography. It was also suggested at our AGM that we could combine our
annual symposium with our postgraduate event and have a two day event,
probably in Cambridge. So, suggestions for themes please to Mia Gray
([log in to unmask]) or myself.
2: Related to the above, it would be good to have some more postgraduate
involvement in the EGRG committee: any expressions of interest to myself
or Mia Gray please.
3: Rather than sending the minutes of this year's AGM as an attachment,
they will soon be posted on the website.
4: Finally, our outgoing Secretary, Michael Samers, is now in the
process of tying up various loose ends and handing over to our new
Secretary, Mia Gray (Department of Geography, Cambridge). We are all
indebted to Michael for his hard work over the past 3+ years. Michael,
you have done a fabulous job, thank you. And to Mia, a big welcome....
Cheers,
Jane
