Hello all,
just a reminder, and in case you missed the announcement via the general
CETIS Announce list, that the next Metadata and Digital Repository SIG
meeting will take place in Milton Keynes, at the Open University on
Tuesday 20th Sept.
This is a joint meeting with the pedagogy forum, so the programme
focusses on the overlap between pedagogy and metadata/repositories. For
example: whether current and forthcoming metadata schemas meet the
resource discovery needs of educators; what will be the requirements of
new types of shareable resources (student portfolios, learning designs
and the like); and how can repositories of learning materials meet the
needs of their users. We currently have the following confirmed speakers.
* Lorna Campbell, Assistant Director SIGs and Content, CETIS, giving an
update on the Dublin Core Education Profile and other specification and
standardization developments.
* Sarah Currier, Project Manager, Community Dimensions of LO
Repositories (CD-LOR) and Senior Research Fellow, JISC/CETIS Pedagogical
Vocabularies Project, speaking on vocabularies for describing
educational aspects of resources.
* Ben Ryan, Lead Technical Development, Kainao Limited, speaking on
"curriculum modelling and a repository".
* David Davies, Senior Lecturer, The University of Birmingham Medical
School, speaking on metadata usecases and workflows in IVIMEDS (topic
t.b.c.)
There may be space for some other presentations, if you are interested
in presenting your work or ideas please contact me (Phil Barker,
<[log in to unmask]>) or the pedagogy forum coordinator, Lisa Corley
