It's always interesting to study such things, not out of morbidity, but
because they are as much a part of the mining landscape as the mines
themselves, the minerals and the miners.
Beware of the tendency to over-compartmentalise such things. They're all
part of a bigger picture, the understanding of which will help the visitor
to appreciate such landscapes all the more, in their full social,
scientific and historical context.
