Thanks Jordan (why are you called John Muir?!)
I'll explore RefWorks too
They all seem to have a free trial so this is going to take some time!

Hi Sue and everyone
In answer to what you need for your bibliography task: Iıve been an avid
user of EndNote for a long time now and find it can be made to do everything
you need I could reply off line if youıre interested. Also our uni has
recently signed up for the online referencing tool called RefWorks Iıve
played with this a bit and it could possibly also do what you want, although
so far itıs only advantage for me is that your reference library is always
available online but itıs much more limited I think than Endnote in that I
use Endnote to store all of my notes about a reference and from my cursory
RefWorks explorationan so far, I canıt see how to use it to do that. But
RefWorks is much better/more reliable for importing references from
databases. In terms of storing info about websites, new media etc, the great
thing about EndNote (and similar programs) is that you could design your own
reference template pretty easily and store the kind of info you want about
all of your references, and then design an output style based on something
like MLA. The ³Note² reference style in EndNote also lets you easily do
annotated bibliographies.
