The script which generates this refers to a CVS checkout in /apps/
statcvs/starlink on cvs.starlink.ac.uk. This doesn't include the
directory /etc/edstar, and when I do a fake update, I get:
saturn:etc> pwd
/apps/statcvs/starlink/etc
saturn:etc> cvs -n update -d
cvs update: Updating .
cvs update: New directory `edstar' -- ignored
cvs update: Updating info
cvs update: Updating init
saturn:etc>
Eh? I can't see any obvious permissions problem (for example), in
either this directory or the /cvs/etc directory, but they can be subtle.
Steve, I originally used /apps/statcvs/starlink as the reference
checkout for this script based, I think, on one of the nightly-build
scripts. Is it in fact appropriate, in the sense that it is in fact
updated regularly?
If not, is there a more appropriate reference checkout?
I put this script, and the script that generates <http://
cvs.starlink.ac.uk/~nxg/componentset.html> in my own crontab,
expecting this to be temporary. I obviously have no objections to
this, but is this still the best place? I'm thinking it might look
better under a non-user URL and in a system cron job, but I'll leave
that to you (or indeed youse). The appropriate cron command is in my
crontab, obviously.
See you,
Norman
