Steve,
I am with Eddie when he mentions Teknical; the Virtual Campus V5 may deliver
all your requirements. There are several institutes in Scotland that may be
able to provide assistance, or use Teknical support team 01482 330033 and
request a demo?

the interoperability tests that we did under SURF X4L indicate that
Learnwise Olympus
allows searching of metadata (these tests were not exhaustive) - i think
that was for content
generated in situ and imported stuff
also might be the case with teknical's new (ish) repository product
not aware of others, thouigh 'enterprise level' products from Blackboard
might do this
[we recently upgraded here at staffs so may be in a position to give
more info in due course]
is where i would look / check first anyway

Subject: [VLES] VLEs and IEEE LOM metadata
Dear All
Can anyone comment with regard to VLEs that you have experience with,
whether or
not they can be configured to display to users metadata that already
exists
within an IMS or SCORM Content Package that is imported into the VLE.
I know that some do pick up any title and description entries that exist
and
display that to the user. Others offer IEEE LOM fields for completion by
the
person importing the resource but they don't populate the fields with
entries
that exist in the package already, they just allow you to make new
entries.
Thanks for your help
Kind regards
