Critical Management Studies PhD Forum 2005
'Radical Practice in the Academy: confessions of dangerous (business)
minds'
Beaumont Hall, Oadby, Leicester, September 17-18, 2005
Invitation
The organisers would like to cordially invite fellow postgraduate
students to the above conference. The aim of the conference is to give
research students working in the field of critical management studies and
related fields (industrial relations, political economy, etc.) an
opportunity to reflect critically, in a student-led environment, on their
practice as research students, teachers, and future members of the academy.
The conference will be organised around various themes dealing with the
radical practice of research students, including: academic life,
producing research subjects, critical teaching, research practice,
re-imagining resistance, more than academia. The sessions will include
presentations, panel discussions, and ample opportunity for debate. Please
visit
our website for a program of events. We are also pleased that Professor
Steve Fuller will deliver a keynote speech on academics and
intellectuals.
Attendance, Fees
Participants are postgraduate students from the UK and abroad. So far
participants are expected from the UK, Scandinavia, and Switzerland. As
the event is for postgraduate students only, we unfortunately cannot
accept academics.
As the conference is self-funding, the attendance fee is set to cover
costs at £50 for two days including catering, or £75 including one night
accommodation (Saturday-Sunday). Please contact the organisers for
enquiries regarding travel, additional accommodation, or other. As places
are strictly limited, we recommend you register as soon as possible, but
no later than the 31st of August 2005.
For up-to-date information, as well as registration details, please
