Hi Brian (and interested parties),
Tim asked me to look at HDS64 and sort out any issues before the merge
onto the main branch. I've now done that and committed all my changes to
the HDS64 branch, so I think that is now in a state where we can just
essentially copy it onto main (that is any conflicts created by the merge
should OK to ignore as all the necessary changes are now part of HDS64).
The changes were mostly peripheral and to do with Windows support and
autoconfing, however, Tim has also committed his patches for the _CHAR
access using DAT_GET and DAT_PUT problem. I reviewed this yesterday and
independently came to the same conclusion about the it's nature and it's
solution (which incidently seems to also follow what HDS previously did),
so we're going to go with that until you say otherwise or not.
I guess the remaining questions for now are, are there any remaining known
HDS64 issues, and, if not, is it safe to merge HDS64 onto the main branch
and use it all the time?
Cheers,
Peter.
