Further to the thread on the retention of childrens records perhaps we
should be looking at SI 2005 No 888
which will apply to persons adopted on or after 30th December 2005
Section 56 information
Disclosure of Adoption Information (Post-Commencement Adoptions)
Regulations 2005
SI 2005 No 888
Regulation 6 100 years from date of the adoption order
If the government is now recommending 100 years from date of adoption order
should we not be retaining other information on adoptions and fostering for
100 years instead of the usual 75 years from 18th birthday?
But from when? Date of birth? Date of adoption? Date of first fostering.
From 18th birthday?
If we say from 18th birthday we are well covered.
