FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN MODERN BOOK HISTORY November 26th 2005
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: ASA BRIGGS; PETER McDONALD; HELEN SMALL.
The First Annual Conference in Modern Book History will take place at
Oxford University on Saturday November 26th 2005.
The panel seeks 20-minute papers relating to book history post 1850.
These might relate to reading practices, relations among authors,
publishers and readers, technologies of text production, and
institutions of cultural visibility and control, with a broader focus on
the material history of institutions and the embodied practices that
sustain, subvert and survive them.
Proposals of 200-300 words should be sent no later than September 15th
