On Monday 12 September – Tuesday 13 September 2005 a postgraduate
conference, organised by The University of Reading and the School of
Advanced Study, University of London will be taking place at The
University of Reading, Reading.
This two-day conference, funded by the AHRC Collaborative Research
Training Scheme, will provide practical workshops, with publishers,
editors and authors, for postgraduates in:
Archaeology
English
History
Philosophy
Film, Theatre and Media.
The aim of the conference is to provide practical advice on how to get
published in the humanities, with speakers including representatives
from a leading range of academic publishers such as Blackwell,
Cambridge University Press and Boydell and Brewer. The first day will
be multidisciplinary in approach, covering basic topics such as
preparing material for publication and new developments in electronic
publishing. The second day will provide help and guidance in the form
of parallel discipline-specific workshops, where delegates will be
encouraged to discuss problems and challenges arising from their own
experiences. Attendance is free, although you must register in
advance. There are a small number of travel bursaries available.
