It should be copied into DPM and get permissions 664 by default.
I think you should try testing that you do genuinely have permissions to do
copies, using the dpns commands.
As a user, initialise your grid proxy, then try making and listing directories
as in
http://www.physics.gla.ac.uk/gridpp/datamanagement/index.php/DpmDpnsTest
See how that goes.
In addition, try a RFIO test, copying something into /tmp on the DPM server.
Then look and see which pool account your certificate actually maps to
according to DPM. See

If that all works, then we can find out what's up with DPM. At the moment it
smells like it might be a grid certificate problem.
