Sorry for my late reaction.
In TEL we use <tel:thumbnail xsi:type="dcterms:URI"> as a refinement
of <dc:description>. It is not restricted to a logo and is very
useful to go along with the other descriptive metadata in order to
allow the user to decide whether or not to request the described
object (which may be anything: book, image, movie, collection etc.).
When I vote for remove "logo" it is just because I consider thumbnail
as more generic and not because I think it is not useful.
I admit this is not a very useful contribution as there is no place
for non-aplication-specific terms other than a private or project-
oriented application profile.
