'International Migration and Scotland: the Public and Social Policy Agendas'
Date: 1-2 September 2005
Venue: Sabhal Ṃr Ostaig, Isle of Skye
The conference will consider findings of the limited research carried out in Scotland on the subject of international migration; examine current policy debates and social and public policies as they relate to migrants in Scotland and beyond; and highlight important considerations for policy and practice development, also drawing on international evidence. Confirmed plenary speakers include: Peter Barry (Scottish Refugee Council) Prof Michael Danson (Paisley University), Philomena de Lima (UHI PolicyWeb), Dr Rafik Gardee (National Resource Centre for Ethnic Minority Health), Dr Piaras MacEinri (University College Cork) and Dr Birgit Jentsch (Ionad Nàiseanta na h-Imrich).
