Hi everyone,
I sent out the request below, asking for help with my PhD research.
However, I am now experiencing technical difficulties with my online
study web site, and am losing all the data for participants (and so
losing participants). Some of you have already tried to complete my
study and have e-mailed me to say that you experienced difficulties.
Firstly, let me apologise for the problems you encountered. Secondly, I
will be e-mailing everyone personally to advise on what to do next. For
now though can I PLEASE ask that no-one else attempt to complete my
online study. I don't know how to resolve the issue at the moment but I
have no choice but to take the site down for an hour tonight for
essential "offline" maintenance. I will post again on the Listserv once
everything is up and running again.
Thanks
Kathryn
My name is Kathryn and I am currently doing my PhD at the University
of
Central Lancashire conducting research into Emotional Intelligence.
After nearly 3 months of trying to recruit people into my study I
still
don't have enough people and so I am hoping that you all might help me
out.
So*if anyone would be willing to help me, I would be really really
grateful. The study involves completing a number of online
questionnaires, and in return you will receive your score on one of
the
most widely used (scientifically developed) Emotional Intelligence
(EI)
instruments available, as well as an interpretation of this score and
an
emotional intelligence workbook. Similarly, you will also receive your
score and interpretation on a happiness instrument and satisfaction
with
life instrument. Finally, all those who participate can be entered
into
a prize draw where £100 Amazon voucher can be won (participants
outside
of the UK may receive a similar voucher). There will only be approx.
300
people in the prize draw so you have a good chance of winning!
If anyone is interested the web site address for my study is
http://www.inspiro.co.uk . The only criterion is that you must be
aged 18+. Also, given that "word of mouth" has been one of the most
successful recruitment strategies I've tried, I would really
appreciate it if people would consider forwarding my website address
(to
people in their e-mail address book) to anyone they think may be happy
to complete my study.
The study will be up and running online until around mid-August 2005.
Thanks
Kathryn
