There should be no advertising on any of the JISC e-mail lists. However, if
a publication is relevant to the subject area (mining history) a notice as
to its availability is allowed and should contain a short account of its
contents.
The problem recently is that members are being lacking discipline in their
response to such postings. If you have comment on the content of the
publication which might initiate discussion please do reply to the whole
list. But, if you just want a copy or wish to contact the author /
publisher, then please reply only to the originator of the posting.
Remember, the default setting for replies is to the whole list. To reply to
the originator only you must select that option in your e-mail application.
If you don't know how to do that then please find out before you hit the
reply button.
If misused of the list continues I'll be obliged to moderate posting and
that will slow its operation down significantly.
Peter
