italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
You may be interested to know that the Institute of Education, University
of London, is now running the long-established course in Online Education
and Training so that you can takeup a special focus on How to Teach
Language Online.
Within the framework of general principles and practice of internet
teaching, you will engage in tasks, activities and practical activities
designed to introduce you to online language teaching. At the same time,
you will benefit from working with peers many of whom have a similar
focus, but others from a range of different subject fields.
The course carries 30 UK credits towards either a master’s or a diploma.
It can be taken either by 10 weeks distance study online, or else by 5
weeks blended mode including 5 separate days in London,
starting October 10th 2005.
There is a choice of options including:
• using the internet to enhance teaching of
vocabulary/grammar/reading/ writing/listening/speaking
• online discourse and moderating
• computer-based assessment
• mobile technologies
• real-time teaching with CHAT or video/web-conferencing
• blogging
• podcasting
You will be required to attend one ‘virtual meeting’ out of school hours.
The fee is £Stg 499, which can be paid by bank transfer, credit card or
instalments.
