In the absence of David Cromwell, my I act as Crisis Forum umpire here.
The list is a list. It is not canon law. It is also not the be all and end
of what Crisis Forum is about. However, that said, and may I repeat the
Crisis Forum agenda here: we are not just about climate change. We operate
on the premise that the position we as a species are in now, is the result
of a much broader economic and political dysfunction. In other words,
climate change is a symptom, not a cause.
Logically it must follow, therefore, that writing in about peak oil is as
perfectly acceptable as any other subject which pertains to the above.
Clearly we would request participants to the list to write in only when
they have something valuable and interesting to say, and in a measured,
succinct manner !!! (The Crisis Forum list ought not be inundated with
material from any quarter).
But the information and comment Mandy Meikle is making falls squarely within
our remit. Personally, I would not want to discourage anybody on this Peak
Oil score or related matters.
Is that fair, folks?
thank you,
mark
